Medical Support

Natural medicine journeys are profound, transformative experiences. Rarely, a medical moment can arise, related to the medicine or entirely unrelated. Our medical support program exists so that every client and every facilitator can move through each session with complete confidence, knowing that skilled care is always present.

On-Site Medical Support

A qualified medical professional can be present on site during a client's medicine journey. Whether the need arises from the medicine itself or an unrelated event, skilled care can be immediately available, so facilitators can remain fully present in their role, and clients can move through their experience with complete peace of mind. Onsite medical support is available and included when working with one of our licensed facilitators. It can be added at an additional cost if your facilitator or group is renting space with us.

Physician On Call

A licensed physician can be on call and reachable throughout every session. Our medical support team works as a coordinated unit, ensuring that a second layer of expert clinical judgment is always within reach.

You Will Know Your Team

Before your natural medicine session, you will meet the members of our medical support team. Familiarity matters. In the rare event that support is needed, these will not be strangers, they will be people you have already met, trusted, and consented to involve in your care.

Consent First, Always

Prior to your experience, you will be asked to provide explicit consent for the medical team to be involved in your care should the need arise. Nothing happens without your knowledge and agreement. Your autonomy is honored at every step.

Providers Who Understand This Work

All of our medical providers carry direct training and personal experience working with natural medicines. This is not incidental, it is essential. A provider who understands the terrain of a medicine journey brings a different quality of presence and discernment than one who does not. They know the difference between a difficult passage and a medical concern, and they know how to respond to each with wisdom and care.

Rooted in Experience

Our medical team brings not only clinical skill, but lived understanding of natural medicine work, a rare and essential combination in this field.

Clinical Facilitator, Legacy Healer Pathway

Dr. Dana T. Lerman is a physician trained in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and infectious disease at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, with advanced training in psychedelic medicine, including psychedelic-assisted therapy through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute (2022). As Chief Medical Officer of Entheogyn, she oversees the medical support team and ensures that clinical standards are woven into every aspect of our care model.

Dr. Lerman obtained her clinical facilitator license through Colorado's Legacy Healer Pathway and has personally facilitated hundreds of natural medicine sessions. Her direct experience working with these medicines, including psilocybin, ayahuasca, Yagé, and tepechozcuitle, informs a quality of presence that goes well beyond clinical training alone. She knows this terrain from the inside.

She is the founder of Starlight Clinical Research, a clinical research practice focused on psychedelics and mental health, contributing to the growing body of evidence that supports responsible engagements with these medicines. She also founded Skylight Psychedelics, through which she prescribes ketamine for use in the offices of licensed and trained therapists across the country, expanding access to this work in a responsible, clinician-supervised model.

In the spirit of community care, Dr. Lerman founded Aya The Tiger, a peer support camp at Burning Man dedicated to supporting individuals in distress, a role that reflects her commitment to harm reduction and the broader culture of intentional medicine work.

Her presence on our medical team represents not just clinical rigor, but genuine understanding, of the medicines, of the people who seek them, and of what it means to offer care that honors both.

"Medical support is not an acknowledgment of danger. It is an act of respect, for the depth of the work, and for the people who trust us to walk alongside them."
For Facilitators

Supporting the Facilitator's Presence

Most facilitators do not come from a medical background, nor should they need to bear that responsibility alone. Our medical team exists in part so that facilitators can remain fully in their role: present, attuned, and undivided in their focus on the client's experience. Clinical coverage is held separately, so the therapeutic container is never fractured.

Questions about our medical support protocols, or how they integrate with your facilitation practice? We welcome that conversation.
